Pandoc, LibreOffice, and when to use each pipeline.
Two engines
Pandoc handles semantic conversions: Markdown to DOCX, HTML to EPUB, LaTeX to PDF. LibreOffice handles layout-heavy Office files when pixel fidelity matters.

Native vs converted
Prose, Fountain, decks, EPUB, and PDF have dedicated editors. Everything else is import or export. Do not expect a converted spreadsheet to become a live deck automatically.
Cost
Cloud plans may bill heavy conversions as one-time actions. Self-hosters run workers on their own machines with no per-job fee to us.
